NICHOLAS HAWK SWIVEL BREECH FLINTLOCK UNKNOWN CALIBER

Description:
Nicholas hawk was well known amongst the Pennsylvania long rifle community, for his distinctive style of incredibly slender and highly embellished rifles. This example is one of his incredibly rare swivel breech guns, made with 38.5" barrels of roughly 48-50 caliber, with one smooth bore and one rifled. This rifle bears all of Hawk's characteristic brass inlays and embellishments. Overall condition is good, with no serious corrosion found on the metal parts and no serious faults in the stock. Unfortunately, like many things that are 200+ years old, the action is almost completely non functional. The inlays in the stock are also coming loose in places, as the wood has shrunk quite substantially.
