P. & E.W. Blake 69 cal Flintlock
Description: Here we have a 1826 P. & E.W. Blake .69 cal in it's origional flintlock configuration and the Model 1822 was used by U.S. troops during the Mexican-American War as well as the American Civil War. The side plate is marked P. & E.W. Blake, This is Philo and Eli Whitney Blake who were nephews of Eli Whitney. This rifle was actually manufactured at the Whitney plant at New Haven, Connecticut. This 1st contract 1822 version of the model 1816 is in very nice condition with the original flintlock configuration. There appears to be a faint inspector cartouche but it is very worn and can't be made out. The markings on the lock are very crisp and the one on the barrel is very faint. The bore is good. This is a good chance to invest in a firearm that will continue to appreciate in value over the years. This rifle was also featured on an episode of The Antiques Road Show ://pbs/video/appraisal-1826-p-ew-blake-model-1822-rifle-9w5dti/ FREE SHIPPING IN THE CONTINENTAL U.S. We do not charge you any CC fees.
