It is an extremely high quality piece, probably a private purchase for a naval officer. Has high quality crosshatch and point checkering at the wrist, a pattern common to dueling pistols. All brass furniture with English walnut stock. The stock has a hairline crack at the forend but is solid and stable. Lock is marked London and works perfectly. Spring bayonet also works perfectly. One of the best features is the inscribed muzzle "My Voice You Soon Shall Hear When Foreign Foes Appear". A really superb English Blunderbuss of high quality and desirable features.
