"H. E. Leman Sporting Rifle (AL7172)

Description:
"Made 1840 – 1850s. 54 caliber with a 41" heavy barrel. Both barrel and lock have Leman markings. Gun has a heavy barrel with a dark brown patina. Wood has normal handling wear and various cracks. The barrel and stock have been hide wrapped just forward of the front sight. Two tacks have been put in just forward of the patch box and there are several other tack holes are on the right hand side. Very neat frontiersman rifle that certainly has the look of being on the great plains!
