Ottoman (Turkish) Knee Gun Ottoman (Turkish) knee gun used for fighting on horseback and firing it from ones knee. The fall back position was to use ones sword. Most knee pistols were flintlock but as firing systems progressed the percussion system was more reliable. This example is percussion and would be from the 1830 to 1850 period of manufacture. The Damascus pattern of the barrel is very well done and is vivid. The lock cock and triggerguard are all scroll engraved. The buttplate is of light color bone and is, in our opinion, original to the gun. Barrel length is 10” and overall length is 17”. The action works perfectly.
