Butterfield with the pellet primer system after the outbreak of the Civil War. Metal and other iron parts are a smooth grey patina with pin-prick oxidation noted. Barrel is marked ""Butterfields/PHILADA"" Lock plate is marked ""Butterfield's/Patent Dec. 11, 1855/Philada. Rear of hammer is marked ""Harpers/Ferry/1836"". Stock is fine with areas of raised grain present, minor nicks and dings are visible. One of the rarest Civil War conversions.
