   SOLD   A rare 1861 artillery rifle with a E.Whitney well marked lock and pitting under the hammer , and the action works well. Comes with an iron ram-rod with the brass tapered tip. The 33" barrel with strong rifling, with pitting. Rer sight is missing. In the past someomne had added finish on the stock and barrel which can easily be removed, Issued in the white this fie gun was clean in the recent past to brightness. Stock is solid and original. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith  before  shooting.
