With a 12 bore,and a 33”round barrel with an oxidized bore. The barrel is mostly a plum-brown patina with moderate old oxidation and pitting scattered about, strangely some of the pitting appearing to be simulated series of dings. The stock appears to be cherry or some similar American hardwood has tiger maple strp and fits well.. There is a squared-off decorative cheekpiece on the left side and the barrel and stock fit exhibit play. The iron buttplate shows moderate oxidation and the brass plate behind the trigger is missing a few of its small nails and shows some rudimentary foliate embellishments. An antique hickory ramrod is present and the hammer seems to function normally.Uusally these 19th century fowlers have a bore with fowling and surface pits. as is this one.
