American New England 1830 Fowler

Description:
A long pwercussion New England Fowler of about 1830-1840 vintage , with an engraved lock plate of uplamnd bird, and a banner most likely Golcher as I can't read it clearly.The action works well and the plate has brown patina, and the hammer has oliate engraving also. The furniture is iron, and the ram-rod ferrules are copper hand made. The full length stock appears to be maple or other hardwood, and is solid, except up near the muzzle on the left side is a s.iver of wood missing. The ram-rod is dark colored hardwood. The muzzle measures about 16ga. CYL.and the barrel also has brown patina . A good hanger. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith  before  shooting.
