Serial #NSN, .36 Caliber black power percussion, 34 inch octagon barrel with a very fine bore with strong rifling. This is a half-stock, back action percussion rifle marked "C. STING / TIFFIN O." for Charles Sting a Tiffin, Ohio gunsmith. In very good condition the barrel is mostly plum-brown showing underlying pitting with scattered marks and contusions. The brass furniture has a pleasing aged patina and the pewter forend cap is dark gray. The tiger stripe stock is solid with old stable cracks near the tang and action screw plate. The double set trigger action needs attention not holding at full cock and there is an old added flash plate near the nipple. It comes with a brass ramrod.
