CHARLES PRETZSCH Antique HALF STOCK Percussion LONG RIFLE w/ GOULCHER Lock Mid-1800s POSEY COUNTY, INDIANA MADE Long Rifle!
Description: CHARLES PRETZSCH Antique HALF STOCK Percussion LONG RIFLE w/ GOULCHER Lock Mid-1800s POSEY COUNTY, INDIANA MADE Long Rifle! Here we present an antique Charles Pretzsch Half Stock American Long Rifle, made circa 1850, in New Harmony, Indiana. Charles Pretzsch was a gunsmith in the town of New Harmony and owned Charles Pretzsch Hardware along with the Lyric Theatorium, also in New Harmony. This rifle would have made a very practical rifle with its .38 caliber bore, double set triggers, and 42-inch octagon barrel. A great gun for putting food on the table and defending the homestead. “CHARLES PRETZSCH/N. HARMONY IND” can be read atop the barrel. The lock is a Goulcher Lock. Individual dots are hand punched on the inside of the patchbox lid in the shape of a “T”. The overall condition is good. The action is mobile (i.e. the hammer moves and has spring tension) and the set triggers set and trip, however, the hammer does not remain in the cocked position. The bore has become dark over the years and it still maintains good rifling. The maple stock has had a few small repairs, but they’re stable and solid. A handsome piece of history from Indiana! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 42 inches. Caliber: .38 Percussion Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $950 #20314 SOLD Antique: Yes |
