Frankford Arsenal Maynard conversion musket. Some 20,000 Model 1816 Type II and Type III muskets were equipped with Remington Arms Co. primer locks and percussion bolsters. These were all supplied to Frankford Arsenal. Many of these muskets would see service during the Civil War. Barrel and lock plate are dated 1858. Metal has a brown patina. Stock is in good shape, shows a faint cartouche. A very interesting musket that has the newest technology of its time applied.
