 Hapgood Half-stock Fowler, c. mid-19th century, .55 bore, walnut stock with checkered wrist and brass fittings, lock marked "H.T. COOPER/WARRANTED," barrel marked "HAPGOOD SHREWSBURY," with a wooden ramrod, barrel lg. 36 1/8 in.The lock works well, and the American walnut wood is clean and free of defects.The horn nose cap has a small piece missing on the upper left side.Nipple is clean, and comes with a hardwood ram-rod with a brass. Butt-plate and furniture is brass.The lock, and trigger guard has very fine chisel engraved scrolls, and the guard has a bird game scene.The bore is better than the average with mild corrosion about half way down, and could use a good cleaning.Brass crescent butt-plate and brass furniture.
