HARPERS FERRY 1824 PERCUSSION CONVERSION
Description: Description Harpers Ferry model 1824 muzzle loading rifle in .69 caliber. This rifle started life as a flintlock and was converted to percussion as flint was phased out. This example has a 42" barrel, full length stock with three bands and is clearly marked "HARPERS / FERRY / 1824" with Eagle on the lock plate. Antique and ships directly to buyers home. Condition: Fair with the barrel showing a dark patina and some missing and replacement parts. The lock plate shows evidence of cleaning. There is considerable corrosion around the broken nipple which has been cleaned. The stock is solid but there is a piece missing near the cock and burn away around the nipple. The action function and mainspring is still strong. The letters "E W" have been carved into the stock.
