J. H. Johnston Great Western Gun Works Percussion Rifle
.40 Cal.
Description: This J. H. Johnston percussion rifle was manufctured by J. H. Johnston Great Western Gun Works in Pittsburgh, PA. From a historical basis, Pttburgh was one of the last resuppliers for settlers before heading west. This particular percussion rifle is chambered in .40 caliber and has a 32" octagon barrel. The maple stock is adorned with brass for the patch box, trigger guard, buttplate, cleaning rod holder and forearm stock cap. The rifle includes its cleaning rod. The rifle has retained its fixed rear sight and has been upgraded to more modern adjustable target peep sights including a King rear and Redfield front sight. Set triggers work as they should and have a nice crisp, light letoff. The maple stock is in very good condition with a 1 inch dent in the forearm. The bore is strong and clean. As a muzzleloader, this can be shipped without using an FFL. All local laws apply. Please see pictures for details. All used firearms should be inspected by a qualified gunsmith prior to firing. All items are sold as photographed unless other arrangements are made. We accept USPS Money Order, cashier’s check, or credit card for immediate shipping. Please note credit card sales are subject to an additional 3% fee. Shipping & Handling ($50):
