Maynard Civil War carbine, 2nd Model, 1863-1865

Description:
Maynard Civil War Carbine, 2nd Model, Serial #19,343. Cal. 50 percussion. 98%+ Collector grade. Made in 1863-1865. Breech loaded. About 98% blued finish with case colored frame. Excellent bright and shiny bore with sharp lands and grooves. Marked on right side with “MANUFACTURED BY/Mass. ARMS/ Co/CHICKOPEE FALLS”. Left side of frame marked “EDWARD MAYNARD/PANTANTEE/MAY 27. 1851/DEC. 6. 1859. Case colored finish not as strong on bottom tang as balance of frame Curved butt plate with smooth steel containing some spotting but it is not rust or pitting. “S” inspector marking on forward edge of butt plate top. “M” on left rear of barrel. Saddle ring and bar present. Wood has original finish with some handling dents and dings. No cracks, chips or deep goughes. Two minty cartouches. A collector for those that seek quality. Shipping $50. Antique, so can ship directly to buyer, no license required. Personal checks accepted with shipment upon clearing. 30-60 day terms available, no interest.
