Here I present a really nice contracted .58 caliber percussion rifled musket. The 1861/63 US Springfield was the warhorse of the US Civil War. This example has everything correct and original. Lock dated 1864 and marked "E. Robinson NEW YORK" next to a clear and deep eagle. Barrel has proper "VP over eagle". Stock has remenents of proper 3 inital cartouche. Clamps have "u". Buttplate has "US". Period correct ramrod. Mechancially fine with strong springs.
Condition of this untouched original stock has expected dings and dents, but no signs of damage/repair. Metal has pitting around breech area, cleans up very nicely down the barrel.
Own an all original, this ls NOT a reproduction. This ls an all original 100% correct Civil War Springfield
