Half Stock Ohio Hunting rifle
Description: Unmarked .36 ca. small game, set trigger, hunting rifle. Brass mounted excellent Maple, period black stained, half stock with original hickory ramrod. Brass patch box. 32" heavy original brown barrel measuring 1" across flats. Deep 6 groove rifling mics .350 x .375 giving .012 rifling depth. .34/.35 ca. ball with .010 greased patch. Original drum with cleanout screw and not a conversion from flintlock. Flash guard added at breech. This gun used well into the 1900's. Fires correctly with set trigger only and works well. Long time Ohio and West Virginia use. Probably Western Pennsylvania made in the 1850's. Accurate shooter with no sanding or refinish anywhere. The windage has been dialed in for 170 years.
