Castiglioni, Brescia. A very rare and fine 18-bore, O/U, flintlock sporting gun, ca. 1815. Weight: 6 ½ Lbs. Stock :
Superb 36” slender, two-stage, O/U barrels, without dents or dings, have fine bores. Iron Ramrod with unloading screw on the hidden end is original to the gun. Excellent quality locks with staining and scattered, very light, corrosion. Locks are tight, crisp, fully functional, and mechanically perfect showing very little use including only very slight use at the face of the frizzens … sparks great! Both locks with Brescia proof marks. Beautifully figured Walnut stock with crisp original, un-refreshed, checkering. Overall a very elegant and rare O/U double flintlock sporting gun showing little evidence of use and no abuse whatever.
