1974 COLT AR15 SP1

Description:
SOLD Selling part my collection of the early manufactured AR 15 SP1 . This listing is for an outstanding 1974 production Colt AR-15 SP1 semi-automatic rifle. It has the early style upper receiver with no provisions for a forward assist and the correct early Colt "triangle" proof mark on the upper receiver. The lower receiver has the Colt four line markings with the four digit serial number SER SP 41160 indicating production in 1974.  It is fitted with the early original Colt marked parts . The right side of the barrel beneath the sight post rings is stamped with the proof "M" and triangle Colt stamping. It is also fitted with early triangular handguards  the "R" and "L" were added on the inner aluminum shields. During this time the buttstcks were changed to"Type 2" version having the "Trap Doors" at the rear to store the cleaning gear in the buttstocks. It also has the rubber coated swinging sling swivel. The ejection port cover is of the earlier style having the roll pin holding in the longer spring and detent. 
One of the nicest examples in existence! NO issues at all and this rifle is 100% correct and all original as issued in 1974! Nothing has been altered, refinished or replaced EVER!  RIFLE IN FANTASTIC COLLECTOR CONDITION! FIVE DIGIT SERIAL NUMBER
