Description:
A very hard to find Ballard Model #10 "Junior" in 38-55 with a 32" long heavy barrel which also has a perfect bore. The receiver is non re-bated, as it's supposed to be on this model.
The LOP is 13", DAC is 1.5" and the DAH is 2.75". Bore measures .385 diameter so you should plan on using a breach seater to shoot it. The double set triggers work perfectly. Im not certain that they are the orignal factory triggers as they seem to be mounted on a plate and then installed on the clam shell breach block. The install was very professionally done.
The barrel does have a filled dove tail slot and I am guessing that it had a long scope mounted on the rifle utilizing the front sight dove tail and the one that is now filled. The butt plate is one of the largest I have ever seen on a schutzen rifle and it is un-numbered. The front and rear sights appear to be original and correct.
Years ago I had the breach block out and I believe the numbers on the end are matching to the receiver and the barrel. The numbers typically found on the wood are no longer present or were never applied. The pistol grip has been repaired on the cracks that are typically found on the top of the pistol grip behind the action.
The photos are there and they are accurate to the condition of this hard to find/scarce rifle.
This rifle can be shipped directly unless your in California and a few other places, as it was built prior to 1898 and its an antique. It will ship via FedEx and you will be advised of the shipping cost after we know where its going. Let me know if you have any questions.
