The is made possible by creating an internal surface that matches the profile of the bolt locking lugs. To achieve this, the steel of the receiver is carved by pushing multiple bolt-shaped cutting tools through the receiver to create a straight interior surface. The result of this manufacturing process is one of the smoothest operating bolts available – an essential feature when fast repeated shots are required. The 90 receiver has also been reinforced from previous models to easily withstand heavy recoil and promote superior accuracy. Torsional bending and twisting have been minimized by designing the specific shapes for critical areas, and flat receiver bedding provides better repeatable accuracy than a conventional round receiver design. Furthermore, the 90 Varmint‚‚s receiver features integrated picatinny rail sections for virtually unlimited optics-mounting options.
