The Austrian-manufactured Voere Open Bolt Semi-Automatic .22 LR rifle (primarily built at the Voere factory in Kufstein, Austria) represents a distinct chapter of the company's production history. While Voere originated in Vöhrenbach, Germany, they expanded operations to Kufstein, Austria, in the mid-20th century. Austrian-stamped models retain the legendary minimalist open-bolt action but carry unique proof marks and manufacturing refinements specific to the Kufstein plant. The bolt lacks a traditional firing pin. The bolt face features a fixed, machined metal ridge spanning the 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock positions. When the trigger releases the rearward-locked bolt, it slams forward, strips a round, chambers it, and crushes the rim fire primer instantly upon lockup.
