Offered her for sale and just acquired along with a fine collection fine of heavy benchrest target rifles is this fine heavy target rifle custom crafted by well known gunsmith and custom rifle maker Richard Ruggeiro of Connecticut. The original action Winchester rifle was made in the 1980-90s. The custom heavy target barrel was chambered for the .30BR cartridge with  26” stainless barrel. A highly attractive multi-colored laminated stock.  It is mounted with an equally fine 3C Weaver TBR Bullseye scope.
The .30 BR (Bench Rest) cartridge is a highly respected and specialized round primarily developed for precision benchrest shooting, particularly in the score-shooting disciplines rather than pure group competition. It’s a wildcat cartridge — meaning it was developed outside of commercial ammunition companies — and has become a favorite among precision shooters who build custom heavy benchrest rifles. The .30 BR originated in the 1990s, building on the success of the 6mm BR (Bench Rest) family. The 6mm BR itself dates back to the 1960s, introduced by benchrest pioneers seeking extreme accuracy with minimal powder charge and recoil.
Rather than starting from scratch, wildcatters necked up the 6mm BR case to accept a .308" (7.62mm) bullet, creating what is now known as the .30 BR. It was quickly adopted in short-range (100–200 yard) score shooting, where absolute precision of the first shot is crucial.
A large part of its popularity came from its efficiency and consistency:

• It offers near-optimal internal ballistics.
• Extremely uniform ignition and burn characteristics.
• Mild recoil for a .30 caliber.
• Uses small rifle primers and relatively small powder charges (typically 30–34 grains of powders like H4198 or N130).

The .30 BR typically pushes a 118-grain flat-base bullet at ~2900 fps with remarkable consistency. Its standout trait is its inherent accuracy — it’s common to see five-shot groups under 0.2 inches at 100 yards from a properly built rifle.
Because of its mild recoil and excellent ballistic efficiency, it allows shooters to maintain sight picture between shots and deliver exceptional precision on paper targets. It has not seen a great deal of use and is in fine – excellent condition. Along with the rifle and scope are included a set of dies and accessories.  This is a enviable and popular custom bench rifle which would appeal to most of the fraternity of bench rest shooting enthusiasts. Its value will be influenced by the quality of Ruggeiro’s gunsmithing.       
The rifle weighs in at approximately 14-16 lbs so this to be taken in consideration as far as shipping is concerned and dependent upon the geographical location of the buyer. Most likely we will ship in a hard case which will be part of the shipping cost as well.
