"Serial no. 001930. Manufactured and imported in the early 1980s by Beretta, chambered in .308 Winchester,23 ½"" round barrel. The bore is bright and shiny with strong, well-defined rifling noted throughout. The barrel is marked “PB-AF," with the front sight base marked “PB BM59" and the front sight itself marked “PB." The left side of the receiver is marked “MOD.62, 308 W BERBEN CORP. N.Y.N.Y." The rifle remains in excellent condition, showing only light handling impressions on the stock.The BM-Mod. 62 is a civilian semi-automatic variant related to the Beretta BM59 military rifle series, itself derived from the M1 Garand platform. Pre-ban imported examples are scarce, with approximately 2,000 rifles believed imported into the United States. The rifle is equipped with a bayonet marked “STAR/AEP/1965." The action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
