Bradshaw Rising block double rifle
Description:
Bradshaw Rising block double rifle chambered in .450 NE.
New action design soon to be patented. 26" barrels, slab sawn Turkish walnut stock of excellent quality. The rifle has many unique features, designed with a focus on strength, reliability, ease of use and longevity. Large bearing surfaces set perpendicular to forces exerted from firing ensure plenty of strength in the action without extra bulk. This also adds to the life of the rifle by reducing wear points such as hinge pins. By combining the strength of my falling block double rifle actions, with the much more sleek handling of a traditional break action, the rising block design is a significant step up in double rifles.
With coils spring driven, in-line and bushed strikers, trigger/sear arrangement similar to bolt action rifles, and a safety that blocks both the sear and triggers, the rifle has built in reliability, great trigger pulls and very safe protection from accidental discharge. Barrels can be separated from the action by removing the cross pin linking the barrel block to the underlever. The forend stays attached to the barrels. This is very easy to do, and facilitates travel with a break down case. The cross pin is retained in the underlever with ball detent when the barrels are removed.
Extractors are driven by the front end of the underlever, providing plenty of extraction for and mechanical advantage allowing the cases to semi-ejected with brisk operation. Re-loading at speed is aided by the ample clearance of the breech, even with a scope mounted, and the troughs on top of the action leading into the chambers. With a lever throw of only 30 degrees, the action can be closed with one hand.
The rifle is completely operational, ready to be finished to your specifications. Stock dimensions are set at 1" drop at the comb, 2.2" at the heel, with 1/4" cast off. With a recoil pad, length of pull can be set up to 15" or shorter as required. I can also bend the stock to fit if needed.
Engraving can range from my standard 60% English scroll coverage to elaborate exhibition level.Standard engraving is included in the price, extra engraving would add.
$18,500 buys the rifle, with $12,000 upfront, and $6000 due upon completion. Delivery of the rifle will be within 6 months of agreement to engraving and stock specifications being established. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions 903 746 0004
