BRNO Model 21 (WW2 Brunn) 6.5 x 57
Description: Brno model 21's are on the scarce side to begin with, but technically those built during WW2 should not exist at all. I was told that the German High Command kept a couple of Custon Shops open within the arsenal system to create 'Presentation Pieces' for high ranking military and industrial individuals and I would think this is what we have here. Non military firearms made by BRNO during WW2 were manufactured under the name 'Brunn'. This piece was made in 1942. First the 'Cons' of this piece. I think it's safe to say that the germans weren't using Lyman flip sights in 1942 nor were they putting on Leupold scopes. (although they should have) The fussy collector will be put off by these alterations, but both of these additions blend perfectly with the appearance and function of this rifle. Now for the 'Pros'. This rifle is RARE! Most of these, war time or not, came in 8mm. The fortunite few came in 7mm, but 6.5x57 were produce in very low numbers. The 6.5x57mm is almost unknown in the USA, which is unfortunate as it is on par or better than most of the current 6.5 newcomers. The stock is what I would describe as ultra slim European. Instead of a butt plate the end of the stock is contoured and grooved creating a recoil area sans butt plate. The bore and bluing are in over all excellent condition. I don't like using the term 'mint', but the woodwork and metal work come pretty close. The trigger is of the 'double set' type. The scope is a Leupold M8 4 power which to my eye is just about the perfect combination for this piece. I have found no 'import markings' on this piece which leads me to believe it is a WW2 'GI' bring back. I will not do international shipping but feel free to set it up your self should you choose to do so. Shipping is $100.00 insured from my FFL to yours. Lastly, all sales are final so ask your questions and take a good look at the photos. Payment needs to be check or money order. Please feel free to contact me if you need further assistance .
