  • Built on the legendary Mauser 98 action, featuring Czech refinement and build quality
  • Controlled-round feed with claw extractor
  • All-steel construction with serial number matching walnut military stock; rugged, battle-proven design.
  • Highly collectible WWII-era contract rifle combining Czech craftsmanship with Romanian military history.
  • Very nice non-SN# matching bolt
Condition: This rifle is in excellent condition for a wartime rifle of this age and type. The blue finish is in excellent condition with some normal light handling marks. The King Carol Crest is scrubbed, but it was done so cleanly with no gouges. The outer olive branch leaves of the crest are still visible. The walnut stock is in amazing shape with its clearly defined matching serial number and defined grain; an indication of not being sanded or refinished. The upper handguard, while in great shape, has seen some military arsenal repair work and has held up perfectly. While the blued bolt is not SN# matching, it is in great shape and matches the rifle's condition very well. This is an indication that it has been mated to the rifle for a very long time. There is some light speckling on the bolt handle. The rifle is in good working order, feeding and ejecting flawlessly with a great bore.

Offered here is a 1939-dated Second Romanian Contract Vz. 24 manufactured by Zbrojovka Brno and later imported by Century Arms International. Delivered to Romania in December 1939, this rifle reflects the turbulent early WWII era, with its King Carol crest neatly scrubbed—likely during the political changes following the fall of Carol II of Romania—while still retaining visible outer details. Its early war production reflects the perfection Brno achieved prior to the decline in quality of Mauser type rifles later in the war in favor of production speed. It remains in excellent overall condition, showing strong original finish and only light handling marks consistent with careful preservation. The SN# matching walnut stock is particularly impressive, displaying sharp markings and attractive grain, with honest arsenal repair to the handguard that adds character without detracting from appearance. The bore is bright with strong rifling, indicating it has been well cared for over the decades. A highly collectible WWII-era contract rifle that blends Czech craftsmanship with Romanian military history.
