Serial Number: T71815
Production of SA22 automatic rifle began in 1914. This was the World’s first production semi-automatic firearm to be chambered in .22 LR. Few autoloading rifles have endured as well as the Browning SA22, it has been in production for over 106 years and is still being made. This example was manufactured in 1960, it is serial numbered T71815 on the butt stock loading port. Weighing a svelte 4lb 13 ounces, holding 10 Long Rifle rounds, and fitted with a full-sized pistol grip and beavertail forend, this handy rifle fits adult and younger shooters equally well. Ejecting from the underside, this rifle keeps cases and residual gases away from the face of the user, it is especially helpful when teaching new shooters, and is ideally suited to both left or righthanded users. The gun displays 99% original factory bluing with an impeccable bore, perfect screws, and perfect wood to metal fitting. There is some fine handling and storage marks. The receiver top strap is factory grooved for dovetail scope mounts. The rifle is fitted with the desirable four-step wheel type rear sight which allows fast range adjustments from 50 yards (position 1) to 75, 100 and 125 with a quick twist of the dial. The fine bluing and elegant Grade 1 hand engraving compliments the hand checkered French Walnut stock which is finished with a hand rubbed and polished varnish. If you like one our guns but it needs "tweaked", let us know and we can quote you a time and price. Some enthusiasts like the guns "as found" and others want them "just so". We often list guns as found and let the particular buyer choose how they want their gun to fit or look.

Production of SA22 automatic rifle began in 1914. This was the World’s first production semi-automatic firearm to be chambered in .22 LR. Few autoloading rifles have endured as well as the Browning SA22, it has been in production for over 106 years and is still being made. This example was manufactured in 1960, it is serial numbered T71815 on the butt stock loading port. Weighing a svelte 4lb 13 ounces, holding 10 Long Rifle rounds, and fitted with a full-sized pistol grip and beavertail forend, this handy rifle fits adult and younger shooters equally well. Ejecting from the underside, this rifle keeps cases and residual gases away from the face of the user, it is especially helpful when teaching new shooters, and is ideally suited to both left or righthanded users. The gun displays 99% original factory bluing with an impeccable bore, perfect screws, and perfect wood to metal fitting. There is some fine handling and storage marks. The receiver top strap is factory grooved for dovetail scope mounts. The rifle is fitted with the desirable four-step wheel type rear sight which allows fast range adjustments from 50 yards (position 1) to 75, 100 and 125 with a quick twist of the dial. The fine bluing and elegant Grade 1 hand engraving compliments the hand checkered French Walnut stock which is finished with a hand rubbed and polished varnish. The rifle takes down without tools into two halves for easy cleaning, transport, and storage. A delightful rifle to share with family and friends on a day at the range. Thank you for looking.
