Manufactured in 1983. Blued steel barrel built without sights, standard markings, and 1 1/2 inch wedges of floral scroll engraving at either side of the breech. The blued action features near full cover floral scroll engraving around a gold inlaid bugling elk on both sides of the front ring. The bottom metal shows the same scroll and a gold inlaid bull elk and two cows. Mounted in a beautifully figured, skip-line checkered pistol grip stock with rosewood forend tip and grip cap, raised cheekpiece, and rubber Browning recoil pad. Condition Excellent, retaining 99% original blue and gold finishes with some handling evidence. The wood is very fine with scattered tiny scratches, varnish wear on the right of the butt, and sharp checkering. Overall maintains an excellent appearance. Mechanically excellent. Includes vintage Niko scope with crystal clear lenses. This is a rare gun and was intended to rekindle the fire set by Olympians and similar engraved brownings.... might be the only BBR on the internet! The Browning BBR is a bolt-action rifle chambered in 7mm Remington Magnum, manufactured in Japan in 1983. It features a 26-inch blued steel barrel built without sights and a four-round internal magazine. The receiver and bottom metal are engraved with extensive floral scrollwork, including gold inlaid depictions of bugling elk on both sides of the front ring and a bull elk with two cows on the floorplate. The rifle is configured for right-hand operation. Engraving details include 1½-inch floral scroll wedges at either side of the breech and matching scroll coverage across the action. The stock is a finely figured walnut pistol-grip design with skip-line checkering, a raised cheekpiece, rosewood forend tip and grip cap, and a Browning-marked rubber recoil pad. This BBR is used and retains its original blue and gold finishes with limited handling marks. Minor scratches are present on the wood surfaces, along with some varnish wear on the right side of the butt. Checkering remains sharp and well-defined. The rifle’s configuration and embellishments correspond to Browning’s high-grade engraved production for 1983. No sights are fitted, leaving the barrel cleanly contoured for optical mounting if desired. The rifle’s metal and wood components display the original finish and engraving pattern consistent with Browning’s factory work from that period. No accessories or additional items are specified as included. I will not ship where prohibited.
