Browning started production of the A-Bolt model in 1985. The A-Bolt quickly earned a reputation as tough and accurate rifle with excellent ergonomics and reliability. One of the best features that the A-Bolt model line incorporated into it's design was the 60 degree bolt throw, which was both short and fast. This design feature allowed the user to mount larger optics closer to the action and get follow-up shots on target faster. This particular Browning A-Bolt is a left handed Medallion model which is no longer in production. It featured a factory gloss blue finish, an engraved receiver with gold accents that is drilled and tapped and is glass bedded into the stock, a free-floated 22" inch barrel that was hand-chambered with a target crown, an adjustable trigger, a detachable box magazine with a hinged floorplate cover, and a select gloss finished checkered Walnut stock with Rosewood forend and grip cap. It also came with sling swivel studs factory installed and a black Browning branded recoil pad with a length of pull of 13 5/8ths inches. This rifle weighs 6 pounds and 11 ounces. While this rifle is pre-owned, it is in excellent/unfired condition. The factory blue finish rates a solid 98% with only some minor handling marks visible under close inspection. The factory stock is in excellent condition as well. It is free from cracks or repairs and looks like-new. The bore is minty and bright. The rifling has sharp lands and grooves and there is zero pitting or erosion. Everything on this rifle works 100% like the day it left the factory. The action is smooth and locks up tight. The trigger is superb and breaks cleanly. There are not too many left handed rifles on the market that are both this clean and attractive. This rifle has obviously spent the vast majority of it's 28 years of life in storage and would be an excellent addition to any lefty's collection!
