Description:
This is a Browning Belgium BAR grade 5 in 30-06 Win. It was made in 1972. It has beautiful French walnut with handsome figure and 28 lines per inch checkering. The 22 inch barrel is deeply blued. The Grade V rifles were only made from 1971 to 1975 and they evoke thoughts and have similarities to the beauty and quaility of Browning Midas grade shotguns. Each side of the receiver is engraved with scenes with three 18 carat gold inlaid antelope on left and 3 18 carat gold deer on the right with an 18 carat gold inlaid wire border. Surrounding the scenes is a fleur-de-lis scroll pattern with a punch dot background and on the bottom of the magazine and trigger guard. The lower left side of the receiver, towards the rear, is signed "R. Kowalski". The beautiful high gloss walnut forearm and stock grip are finely checkered with fantastic relief carved floral vine designs. It comes in a black hard case with a red velvet lining. Just beautiful!
