Offered here for sale is a classic Belgian Browning BAR rifle in .308 Winchester. It is a highly regarded firearm, known for its craftsmanship, smooth operation, and hunting utility. The model  Browning BAR (Browning Automatic Rifle) is a gas-operated, semi-automatic rifle chambered for the .308 Winchester cartridge. It has a 23 inch barrel and comes equipped with a fine Bushnell Sportview 3x9 power scope. It has extremely fine hand-cut checkering on pistol grip and forearm. The walnut stock is excellent with only a minor bruise on the right side.
The rifle has the serial number 137PX09801 which  indicates it was manufactured in 1983 in Belgium, which qualifies it as a “classic Belgian BAR.”. The Browning BAR in .308 Win is ideally suited for big game hunting (e.g., deer, elk, black bear) and medium-range shooting (the .308 Win performs well out to ~600 yards) and exhibits precision and fast follow-up shots thanks to the semi-auto action. It also is very fine for sport shooting and target practice.
The .308 Winchester cartridge is highly respected for its balance of power, accuracy, and manageable recoil. And it is less common in BARs compared to calibers like .30-06, making it more desirable among certain collectors. The Bushnell Sportview 3x9 scope is a solid, entry-level variable power scope. The magnification range: 3x to 9x – suitable is suitable for short to mid/long-range shots.
