Browning Model 53 .32-20 custom rifle for sale. This rifle started out as a new, out-of-the-box Browning Model 53, but its accuracy was not up to my standards. The rifle was shipped to Mr. Rob Zimmerman who modified and fine tuned the rifle. Modifications included installation of a new Wind River octagon barrel which was draw filed, polished and Belgian blued, crowned, and engraved with a caliber designation. The action parts were polished and the fore end was glass bedded. The stock was oil finished, the trigger adjusted to a crisp 2 lb. pull and a bolt peep sight was added. The barrel rear sight dovetail has been filled (see photos).There is a gold oval on the buttstock with my initials. (The letters can be filed off and yours added.) The bolt peep confers the advantages of an aperture sight and extends the sight radius to maximize accuracy. It is adjustable for windage and elevation. The rifle function is smooth and slick and accuracy was improved significantly. It averages 1.04 inches for five shot groups at 50 yards with Hornady 100 grain handloads. The pistol grip is finished with a Winchester logo cap, and the buttplate also has a Winchester logo. Weight is 7lb. 13.4 oz.. Barrel length is approximately 23.5 inches and length of pull is 13.5 inches. In short, it shoots as good as it looks. The rifle has seen minimal use after completion and looks nearly new, having spent nearly all of its life in the safe. I would venture to say that you will not find a better looking and better shooting Model 53 Browning. Shipping is $75.00.
