Browning .22 LR wheel Sight
4 day of manufacture with Rare Factory Engraving
Description: Sold Pending Payment--For the Serious Browning .22 Take Down Collector.Manufactured on the 3rd or 4th day of production."" Serial Number is T165"". Here you have a 97%+ condition of the Production Wheel Sight .22lr with the Super Rare Rose Style Border Engraving-as seen on the Superposed Shotguns. I've been collecting these Browning 22 wheel sight rifles for over 26 years. In all this time I've only seen 4 with this rose style edge engraving.--- Homer Tyler Book says only around 200 were made with this style edge engraving pattern. Truly a Very Rare Rifle. Not the typical zig-zag style. Also look at the Flat Rivit on the wheelsight dovetail rear sight. This indicative of a low number of 1st year rifles. Also take a look at the adjusting ring, notice the barrel lock tooth cut, also relating to the first year early rifles. This was a carry over from the FN 22 rifles, till they ran out and changed to the ring with a wider cut as seen on most of the wheel sight rifles and the early flip sight rifles. See last pic for comparing the adjusting wheel and tooth cut for the very early 1956 rifles with the one used after. Also see the front sight rivit comparrison. 4th day of manufacture 1956 . This Rifle is all Factory Original !! Not restored or messed with. Still retains it's Factory Original Open Pore Wood Finish with very nice wood grain showing fiddleback. Bore is Excellent . Engraving is Excellent !! Bluing is also Excelent . A true survivor rifle from the first week of production. Wood has a very few small marks, also Excellent for it's age. This Rifle has been a safe queen most of it's life being very gently used. Browning Hartmann Case is very nice, with 1 keys and Browning Warranty Card.. Hard to find and Rare Factory Original Manual is included. $75.00 Shipping and insurance as is. Bank Cashiers Check or Bank Money Order-Personal Check if we have done prior business Payment within 5 business days Price: $3300.00 if you're interested in the rifle but don't want the case I can sell the gun alone for $3000.00 SOLD Rifle Caliber: .22 Long Rifle Manufacturer: Browning Model: Semi-Auto Serial Number: T165 Barrel Length: 19 3/8 Bore: 99% Condition: 98% Metal Condition: Excellent Wood Condition: Very Nice 97% Bore Condition: Mint Manufacture Date: 1956 1st week Engraving: Grade 1 special |
