The Browning B78 was made from 1973 to 1982, then became the Browning 1885. It was patterned after the Browning 1878 Falling Block action. The patent was then sold to Winchester who made the Model 1885. This B78 has a 1973 Serial number and was made by Miroku in Japan. The fit and finish is simply beautiful. By all appearances this gun is "Like New" and seems to be Unfired. The blueing is stunning as is the high gloss Walnut finish and checkering. There is one small compression ding at the pistol grip (see photos). The Octagon barrel is 26" and has no sights. The attached Weaver K10-1 is a Vintage scope with AO and has fine crosshair reticle with excellent bright optics. The scope rings and mounts are genuine Browning. The Falling Block action is butter smooth with an amazing 2 1/2 lb trigger pull. The .22-250 Rem caliber in this model is very desirable and hard to find. Original box and docs are absent, but the gun will be shipped in a Hard Case. Shipping costs will be added at actual cost and are estimated to be $60 with insurance (add $50 for California).
