Browning, Model 78, .243 Octagon Barrel

Description:
Used Browning Model 78 in .243. RR serial number=1977 mfg., 26" Octagon barrel. From my research they made only 671 in .243 Metal is 99.5 % with one small darker spot on one of the barrel flats. Balance of Blueing is perfect. Bore is a mirror.

The stock has the factory oil finish with nice grain. ( I found an old ad here on GI for the same rifle and it also had an oil finish). Checkering is crisp. One very samll pressure mark in the border of the pistol grip checkering, a small mark where the wood meets the receiver and some marks near the forearm screw. You can see them in the closeup pictures. Factory recoil pad. I do not have the sling swivels.

Browning factory scope bases. The Burris Fullfield ll 4.5 x 14 x 42 scope with their Ballistic Plex reticle is not included in the sale, but is available for purchase. There are some rub marks on the tube and turret caps but the optics are perfect.
