Mint 1968 Belgian Browning Medallion .30-06 Long Extractor Tested Salt Free 1 of 869 Produced
Description: For sale is a very nice Belgium Browning Medallion Grade bolt action rifle! Production numbers for these rifles are extremely low and often overlooked or not even known by most. In total the estimated production for all calibers in the Medallion Grade is estimated at 4035. Of these only 869 are reported as being chambered in .30-06. Not only are these rifles low production, they are also extremely high quality. The hand finished stock features excellent wood grain, capped with rosewood, and finished in high gloss. The skip line checkering is also hand cut and features an exquisitely carved border. The cost to reproduce one today, in equal quality, is more than the price of the entire rifle. Quoted to me by one of the few stockmakers I would trust with this task, his price to me was $5000 for a medallion grade stock and $8500 for an olympian grade. The receiver and barrel are tastefully scroll engraved and finished in Browning's signature hand polished blue. The wood condition is mint without any signs of handling or wear, the metal is near mint with only the faintest handling marks present. This rifle has been silver nitrate tested by me and shows no signs of salt present. This is also evident based on the metal condition which is nearly impossible to improve upon. The scarcity, material quality, and craftsmanship make these rifles quite exceptional as collector's items as well as investments. Vintage firearms are a passion of mine.
