In service from 1891-1955, this rifle saw service in the Australian Cadet Corps. They were surplussed out in the mid 1950s and many were sold in Australia, New Zealand and of course the United States. Many of these rifles were rechambered into more common cartridges such as .22 Hornet, .25-20 WCF and .357 Magnum. This rifle however remained in the original chambering. Brass and loaded ammunition is available from smaller manufacturers, though it is quite expensive. Many hand loaders modify .32-20 WCF brass for use in these rifles. Despite its similar dimensions it falls short of the .30 Carbine cartridge by about 300ft/s, reaching a muzzle velocity of 1500ft/s and 550ft/lbs. Though it is a niche rifle in a niche cartridge it would make a potent small game rifle or a unique target rifle. None
