Description: EXTREMELY RARE antique Burgess 12 ga. shotgun. MFG. by Burgess Gun Co. Buffalo New York 1892-1899 when Winchester bought out and closed the plant. This is a Factory engraved two barrel set. Comes with a leather case that holds receiver and both barrels. Both barrels have a full solid rib and are choked imp-mod. One is 27" the other is 30". The Burgess appears to be in all original condition, with one noticeable repair behind the trigger on the sleeve*( see picture ) The dog head butt plate is still in great condition. The action is functional. This firearm is NOT to be fired with MODERN ammunition and will be sold as is. It is unknown what the total number of mfg. is, however it is estimated to be only a few thousand. The serial number on this one is 2752. This is a great piece of firearm history, Andrew Burgess is perhaps the most prolific firearms inventor the world has ever known.
