Burnside 5th Model Breech loading Civil War Carbine
Description:
Many Cavalry units were armed with this model, among them: the 1st Michigan, 3rd Indiana, 5th, 6th,7th Ohio, 1st New Jersey, 3rd West Virginia, 3rd, 14th, 18th Pennsylvania, 2nd, 12th, 14th, 16th Illinois. These were sold to the U.S. Government 1863-1865. The bore is very good bright and shiny but does have a spot of corrosion 4” down from the muzzle on the left side. Other than the small area of corrosion the bore is in beautiful condition. The mechanical function if very good crisp and tight. The barrel has the Cast Steel mark forward of the rear site. All of the markings are about very good but is missing the wood Cartouche on the left side. This rifle has definitely seen action during the Civil War. I would consider trades for pre 1899 ANTIQUE PISTOLS and rifles on any of my items.. WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO TRADE? Ask about our 30-90 day lay-away program. We accept Bank Check, Money order, Personal checks or wire transfer.
