About Us: Hoss Cannons builds 3 different models of Cannons. We have the " Hoss " It can be built in 1.50 cal to shoot lead or the 1.75 for golf balls & light powder lead loads. The " Little Hoss " is a 1.50" barrel that is made to shoot lead. It will fit through most doors in the average home. Talk about a great display piece !!! The barrel is 72# & the carriage 50#. It can be disassembled into 3 pieces. The barrel, the wheels & the carriage in 5 min's & will fit in the back seat of a car. All the hardware is hand forged. The barrel has a 1/4 "steel liner. Then there's the "Big Hoss" This shoots a 1.75 lead ball at supersonic speeds. It has 1/2 inch steel liner & was built to shoot lead fast. They're built 1 at a time & they can all be customized.

This is my largest Cannon. " THE BIG HOSS " It has a 1/2 inch 4130 seamless steel liner. It shoots a 1.1 pound lead ball. This cannon has over 25,000 FPE. I built this cannon rugged, so it could shoot lead safely. Most 1.75" cannon barrels are sold to shoot golf balls but if you talk to the barrel builder lead is a big no no !!!! This barrel weighs 151 lbs. It surpasses the 3/8 steel liner required by some cannon club competitions events. .The firing system is a Timecert 6mm steel incert that is thread & bonded into the cast iron cannon barrell. A Mag Spark 209 shotgun primer system makes the spark after the slam hammer sets it off. You can use a fuse if you wanted to. The cannon comes with a ball mold, the rammer, the worm & the ceramic barrel cleaning tool plus 50 lead balls. The cannon was built with large lag bolts & epoxy everywhere. The 30 " wheels are Hickory & have 14 spokes & steel bushings that were trued & bonded in place. The trunnion caps are thick bronze castings. The cheeks have a 1/4 inch thick epoxied brass plate on the inside that the barrel sits on along with the wood & a brass plate on the outside to squeeze everything together. The carriage has 3 coats of boiled Linseed oil & 3 coats of Dainish oil. I have shot this cannon 200 +times. I like using a 300 to 350 grain charge of 1F BLACK POWDER ONLY !!!! That gives you 20 to 23 shots out of 1 pound of powder. You can load it up to 1500 grains but even with my streel backstop, good luck finding the ball. I shoot at a steel plate & recover 80% of the lead balls. Re-mold the lead yourself or send the lead to me to mold them for you at a very fair price. Priced to sell at $8750 + shipping.
