English Naval “Carronade” 1805-1815
Description: This model represents a Naval "Carronade"mounted on the stern of an English merchant ship during 1770-1820.This entire piece was made by Master Cannon Maker John W.Bradley. You will not see another one...I own the first 13 cannons he made.He made this one in July /August 1975.The brass barrel and other cylindrical parts were made on a 1937 model Atlas metal lathe. He used a "Dremel" model jig saw and high speed drill press he made himself for the white pine he made the stern of the ship out of.The stern is 10"x10" by 7 1/2" high . The cannon is 2 3/8". The cannon spins around on the wooden rail it is attached to to cover all sides of the stern exactly as the real ones were. Inside the ship you have 8 pages of "Carronade " history,3 pages general instructions for firing , and 5 pages of instruction on muzzle loading cannons. This is an opportunity to own a one of a kind piece made by deceased Marine WWII veteran John W.Bradley from Texas.I will be selling his other cannons over the next month. Thank you for looking!
