The C308 is a Century Arms copy of the famous G3/CETME series of battle rifles, a series whose design traces it’s origins all the way back to the prototype StG 45 assault rifle that a team of German firearms designers were working on at the end of World War II. The G3/CETME/C308 uses the roller-delayed blowback method of operation. Essentially, the C308 uses rollers and gas pressure to cycle instead of a gas piston. The C308 here has been modified with a simple bipod. It appears this was done by installing a sling swivel stud in the bottom of the forearm and attaching the bipod to it. Alternatively, H&K Parts sells multiple forearms for these rifles (G3/CETME/HK91/C308) using either picatinny, key-mod, or M-LOK rail systems which would provide a better surface for mounting a heavy-duty bipod for those who want to add one. The scope fitted is an NcStar 3-12x56mm EG sniper scope with P4 sniper reticule. It is designed to allow for precision shooting at fair distances. It features illumination, for which there are two color options – red and green. Special lens clovers are included. The rifle comes with three 20-round magazines and one short 5-round magazine. One advantage the C308 has over the comparable M1A (M14) and the FAL rifles is cost of magazines.
