Taylor’s and company 1874 sharps 45-70
Description: This is a Taylor's and company replica sharps in 45-70, 32" barrel, pewter forend, double set triggers. it is an Armi sport but I believe chippia is now the owner of that company and rifles are being made by them. it has a Lyman 17A front globe sight and Montana Vintage Arms Long Range Vernier tang sight ( same as Quigley ). there is a small little fingernail sized blemish about halfway on right top of barrel that was there when I bought it and does not affect anything except it's a little unsightly. Also a slight discoloration just behind front globe where I superglued a spirit level and it marred blueing. It will be shown in photos as will blemish. Also, slight marks where a Malcolm scope was mounted. wood has a few marks but only normal handling , usage, because this was my first and I learned about 45-70 on it. I have since graduated to a Shiloh sharps and this one has just sat in safe since Quigley of 2019 and since there was no Quigley 2020, it's time to let it go. it's a good shooter, mechanically sound, and I have a couple of extra firing pins I'll throw in. Like most dummies, I broke the original in it by not half cocking, learned the hard way but that's probably the best way. the MVA sights are just about brand new, I bought them to use at Quigley 2019 but ended up using another rifle so they are still as new it's a good, solid rifle and hitting the buffalo at 805 yards is good.
