One of a Kind Gallagher Civil War Carbine Patent Model. This is the original patent model submitted to the U.S. Patent office in 1860. This is the gun that lead to the rest of the Gallagher production. In the early 1900s the U.S. Government decided to get rid of all of the patent models in their collection. These were sold and then traded hands several times before they ended up in the hands of Rundle Gilbert. He was an eer and dealer. This gun comes with the original tag from the U.S. Patent Office and a tag saying this was from the Rundle Gilbert Patent collection. This gun was finished in the white. The metal now has a darker gray patina. Very historic piece!
