Description: An Early U.S. Civil War Military Issued Model 1869 Spencer Carbine Identified By Serial Number Directly To "John B.R. Fix", 19th N.Y. Cavalry, (1st N.Y. Dragons, Co. F)" In Nice Untouched Condition. Serial #35,623, all original & Complete. The carbine has very good metal, markings, and edges. All of the metal on the carbine has a wonderful and natural dark brown patina on it. The wood on the carbine is very good throughout with a wear spot on the backside where the loading tube is is showing through the wood. This wear spot shows how much action that the early carbine saw during the war. It has a very good action and bore. Private John Fix mustered into the N.Y. 1st Dragoons, Co. F. on September 3, 1862 & mustered out at Cloud's Mills, VA on June 30, 1865. The regiment lost 126 men and 4 officers in battle. They fought the entire war in VA., and were in 96 shirmishes, and battles.These battles included, Deserted House, VA, Manassas VA, Todd's Tavern, VA, Cold harbor, VA. Trevillian Station, VA., Petersburg, Deep Bottom, Newtown, Shepherdstown, Smithfield, Opequan, Winchester, New market, Cedar Creek, Five Forks ,& Appomattos Court House VA. This Is A Very Good Looking & Untouched Example Of An Early U.S. Civil War Model 1860 Spencer Carbine Identified Directly By Serial Number To Private "John B.R. Fix, (1st N.Y. Dragoons, Co.
