A Civil War U.S. Military Issued 2nd Model Maynard Carbine            

Description:
An Early Civil War U.S. Military Issued 2nd Model Maynard Carbine In Fine Untouched Condition. Serial #24,388 with all matching numbers throughout. All original and complete. The carbine has fine plus metal and clear markings throughout with crisp edges. Marked on the frame, "MANUFACTURED BY/ MASS. ARMS CO./CHICOPEE FALLS" and on the bottom tang 1865. It is fully U.S. Sub Inspected. The barrel retains all of its original factory blue throughout it. The frame, top and bottom tang retain most of their original factory case colors which has some light thinning in spots. The hammer, lever & butt plate are darkening to a natural patina. All of the wood on the carbine is excellent throughout with excellent edges and a wonderful color to it. There are two clear U.S. Inspectors Cartouches on the backside of the wood. The carbine has an excellent bore and action in it. This is A Very Fine Example Of A U.S. Civil War U.S. Military Issued 5th Model Burnside Carbine That Would Be A Very Nice Addition To Any Collection!
