Description:
An Early & Scarce Civil War Joslyn Model 1855 "Monkey Tail" Carbine In Fine Plus Untouched Condition. Serial #17, estimated under 1,500 made from 1855-1856. All original and complete. The carbine has fine plus metal and markings throughout. It has sharp edges throughout. All markings are crisp and sharp. The barrel on the carbine retains most of its original plum brown finish on it with light fading in spots. The breech lever also retains most of its color. The lock and hammer have a mix of a natural patina with some original plum color. The brass barrel band, trigger guard & butt plate are fine and untouched. All of the wood on the carbine is excellent throughout with sharp edges. It has an excellent action and bore in it. This is A Fine Plus To Excellent Example Of An Early & Scarce Civil War Joslyn Model 1855 "Monkey Tail" Carbine. It Would Be A Wonderful Addition To Any Fine Civil War Collection!
