An Early & Scarce U.S. Sharps & Hankins Model 1862 Army Carbine In Very Good Untouched Condition. Serial #8783, only 500 made with a 24 inch barrel. It has the "SHARPS & HANKINS, PHILA." markings on one side of the frame & "SHARPS PATENT, 1859" and Inspected "P/OCB" on the other. Only 200 were issued & inspected. The carbine was made from 1862-1865. It has good to very good metal throughout it. All the metal on the carbine has an even and dark natural patina throughout it. All screws are also very good. The brass butt plate is fine throughout. The original butt stock is nice throughout with a very good grain and darkened color to it. It has a good action and rifling in it. This Is An These Early & Scarce Civil War U.S. Sharps & Hankins Model 1862 Army Carbine In Very Good Untouched Condition.
